Culottes: In or Out?

My culotte collection is pretty insane. I own a pair in white, black, pink, blue, burgundy, leather.. you name it I own them! Some may consider them a “trend,” but for me they’re a wardrobe staple. I just love how they cinch in at the waist and flare out at the hem to give that wide leg appearance.

When it comes to styling culottes, keep it simple! Culottes can easily go from chic to frumpy, so be sure to keep the look clean and definitely pair them with heels. I would advise to style them with a higher heel to appear taller (especially if you’re short like myself). If you’re tall or you’re just not into high heels try a smaller kitten heel, wedges, a chunky heeled bootie or even a pointed toe flat with a 1inch heel. Pointed toe shoes always give the illusion of a taller figure.

I prefer to purchase culottes from Zara because in my opinion they do them best. Let’s be honest, Zara can do no wrong in my eyes haha, but honestly I own a few pair by them and the quality and fit is always perfect. I have ventured off to other brands, but none compare to the pairs I have by Zara. Not to mention, they’re always reasonably priced. I purchased these for only $50 last spring!

For this look I went full on monochromatic. I decided to add some texture to the look by throwing on a pair of patent leather open toe booties also from Zara. They have a super high chunky heel which assists with giving me height, but not discomfort. Score!

As you can tell, I’m all about the culotte trend. What do you guys think, are they in or out?kashera-fuller

Definitely In! You wear them so well, how else would you style them?

Thanks Carrie! I also love paring culottes with an oversized chunky knit and some flats, or even sneakers, to relax the look.
