Being a fairly new “fashion blogger” (emphasis on the quotations) can be mentally challenging at times. You’re entering this overcrowded world of fashionistas who all seem to be more advanced than you and it can become very overwhelming. You’re constantly asking yourself, “Is my content creative enough?” or “What differentiates my blog from the other millions of bloggers out there?” or even “Do I need to buy more designer pieces to make it as a blogger?” All of these uncertainties constantly flood your mind and make you question yourself and your content.
From one aspiring blogger to another, enough with the doubts! You ARE creative enough, your content DOES matter and you ARE different. Flower Child is about embracing your uniqueness! You can not let negative thoughts stop you from doing what you love. And trust me, I am talking to myself as well as I type this. I honestly feel like there’s no secret to success in this blogging world. You just have to be content with who you are and stick to that. People love originality and transparency – I know I do! So, please do not lose yourself trying to be down with the “in” crowd. Personally, it took me a while to realize this. I had to come to terms with the fact that I am a very simple girl when it comes to my style. My outfits are never going to be super trendy or flashy because I love basic pieces. And honestly, I feel and probably look stupid when I try to imitate anything or anyone other than myself. Therefore, there’s no point in constantly comparing myself to other bloggers, especially those who have a completely different style than I do, because that’s just never going to be me and that’s okay. Trust me, there has to be at least one person out there who can relate to you and your style. And if not, that’s okay too. As long as you love you that’s truly all that matters!
Okay enough venting Kashera and on to the outfit details haha. Today’s look is one of my favorites! I’ve been seeing sock boots everywhere lately and knew I had to grab a pair. You may have noticed that the color red is super trendy this season, especially red sock boots. I did not want to get a pair in red for that exact reason, so I opted for these floral sock boots that are to die for! Because the boots were super loud, I paired them with basic pieces like my fav mom jeans from Asos and this chunky, oversized turtleneck sweater that I recently picked up from H&M. I wanted to showcase the red flowers in the boots, so I toped the look off with a red beret and my signature red lippie. I can’t wait to style these boots in a million other ways, so don’t be alarmed if you see me in them quite often!
